Alan's 24km Swim

By Alan FitzGerald Join Me

Please help me to be Limitless For MS!

This time, a 24km swim.Ā  I know, I know....

My story.

Just over 25 years ago, I woke up, and something weird happened to me - my eyes weren't working properly, and parts of my face, my legs and my hands were numb. I went to a local doctor whose instructions of 'Get to a hospital NOW!' kinda freaked me out. A week later, I was discharged with a new diagnosis of MS - how did this happen?

Well, that's the big question that is being worked on - why does it happen...?

There have been some recent advances that are fantastic, but ongoing research and care are always required.

I am an absolute rarity - apart from minimal effects, I have dodged a bullet - but many won't.

I am also a keen swimmer and will be doing a 24km swim in February 2025 from Safety Beach to Sorrento - - so why not see if I can raise some funds to help out?

Any amount is welcome, and thanks for your support!

I've got it; it doesn't have me!

Al

I'd love for you to follow my journey through this fundraising page and for any support fundraising wise you can assist with.Ā

Any donation will ensure that Aussies are well supported while they face the challenge of living with multiple sclerosis!

MS is the most common disease of the central nervous system - currently there is no cure.

It's quite staggering to think that multiple sclerosis affects more young people than any other neurological condition, with the average age of diagnosis just 30 years old - I was about 26!.Ā

Every case of multiple sclerosis is unique - the symptoms, severity and progress of the disease are different for everyone.

You can ensure Aussies living with multiple sclerosis can break down barriers, achieve goals and live well by making a secure online donation.

Ā

Thank you for your support.

Having also gone to Newtown and been diagnosed with MS - I can massively relate to your story. I too feel like one of the lucky ones. Best of luck. Your story is inspiring others.
