The MS Plus Camino Trek 2025

Please help me to Do It For MS!

I'm fundraising to ensure that no one has to face multiple sclerosis alone.

MS is the most common disease of the central nervous system - currently there is no cure.

It's quite staggering to think that multiple sclerosis affects more young people than any other neurological condition, with the average age of diagnosis just 30 years old. Every case of multiple sclerosis is unique - the symptoms, severity and progress of the disease are different for everyone.

You can ensure Aussies living with multiple sclerosis can break down barriers, achieve goals and live well by making a secure online donation.

Thank you for your support.

My Updates

Sunday 23rd Jun
I first heard about the Camino de Santiago de Compostela quite a few years ago, and it had sat on my bucket list for some time.

In November 2016 I was wheeled into my doctors office, unable to walk after being quite sick for a number of weeks to hear the news that I had Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
I spent months in rehab learning how to walk again and didn't think I would ever be able to walk far enough to complete the Camino, so I made the tough decision to remove it from my bucket list.

During my rehab my neurologist encouraged me to start walking. First to the end of my driveway, then to my letterbox, then the end of the street, then around the block. Each few weeks going just a little further.
First with a wheely walker, then with a walking stick, and eventually unaided.

Before I knew it I was walking 5 km most mornings, something I didn't think I would ever be able to do again.

I put Camino back on my list hoping to go in 2021 for my 40th birthday. But unfortunately, the borders were shut closed due to Covid, and it was once again a dream that got benched.

As advocate for those living with MS, and understanding how tough it can be sometimes, raising funds to help those with MS while walking the Camino as part of the Conquer the Camino to Fight MS team means so much for me.

Not only does it give me the chance to walk Camino, something that has been a passion of mine for years, but I get to raise funds for a cause that sits close to my heart, and hopefully, one day, will help find a cure for MS
